Green roofs weigh more than traditional roofing materials and if you are considering installing one, it is best to consult with a structural engineer. While new construction can easily be designed to incorporate the weight loads of a green roof, retrofitting existing buildings requires careful consideration.

Green Roof Edging

We manufacture a wide range of edging to retain green roof systems and properly trim and detail roof penetrations. Our green roof edging is extensively field-tested and has proven effective in promoting proper drainage for your extensive or intensive green roof system. Our edging are bent at a 90-degree angle (custom angles are possible for sloped applications) with slots on the vertical section to provide lateral drainage. The slots come all the way to the bottom of the angle to facilitate any level of moisture and promote drainage during a storm event. The “L” shape ensures that there are no sharp corners on the roof membrane. Our high-strength materials are lightweight, long-lasting, and easy to assemble. We provide edging in both straight and flexible contour cuts to suit your design needs.

Our standard edging comes in lengths of 3 meters and is 3mm thick aluminum. We also offer custom edging in various alloys, thicknesses, and colors. We can provide different gauges of aluminum, stainless steel, copper, and other steel. We offer a full line of powder coating or hard anodizing on all edging products. The slots are designed for a calculated flow rate of approximatly 100 lites per minute given a 25mm storm event.

Standard sizes for our edging are 80mm tall up to 210mm tall in 10mm increments.

Custom Edging

Custom edging is available in laser cut stainless steel, copper, anodized aluminum, PVC coated and powder coated in a wide range of colours.
